On the Rise Inc. is a nonprofit Resource Family Agency dedicated to improving the lives of children in foster care by providing services that recognize the diverse backgrounds of children and non-minor dependents based on trauma informed practices and in collaboration with other human services agencies and the community.
The journey began when On the Rise Inc. was established in 2015 by the Executive Director/Administrator Kimberly Hammack.
Kimberly Hammack has over 13 years of experience working in social services. Her vision in founding On the Rise Inc. derives from a deep passion for helping children and families. Working in social services for so many years she saw the struggle these children and families face while being in foster care.
With a lot of time, dedication, and hard work, she persisted in her vision of creating a compassionate foster family agency that truly makes these children feel at home. At the end of the day what is most important to On the Rise Inc. is that these children are safe, loved, and placed with families who will help them grow.
On the Rise Inc. believes that a person-centered approach to service delivery produces the best outcomes for not only children and families but for our staff. On the Rise Inc. promotes an environment where others feel free from threat both physically and psychologically and where individuals have a desire to know and be known by others.
This involves being open to experience, being trusting and trustworthy, and being creative and compassionate. Lastly, our person-centered approach supports the belief that every individual person is the expert in their life history and we are merely the facilitators.
Foster Care is the temporary placement of a child in a home outside of his or her family which is required for the safety and well-being of the child. Children are placed in foster care until their parents or caregivers are able to provide a safe environment for them or until a permanent placement such as adoption or guardianship becomes available. An assigned Agency Social Worker will visit the foster home where a child is placed on a regular basis to help support the needs of a child.
The services that OTR provides is centered around each and every kid we serve.
